BACKGROUND

As an innovator in strategic branding and packaging in Sri Lanka throughout the past 15 years, Design Logics has a dedicated, dynamic history, that has shaped many organizations to become successful locally and globally. Whilst playing a significant role in the printing and packaging industry in Sri Lanka, Design Logics’ future vision had always been to actively participate and help SMEs/ Start-Ups through necessary support, increase direct export participation of SMEs and boost demand for
Sri Lankan home grown Agri based products.
However, throughout the years of transforming companies, numerous gaps surfaced which needed rectification; first of all, supply chain disruptions and supply-demand gap had often contributed in creating a barrier for these enterprises to succeed. In addition, the
Agri-based products in Sri Lanka, needed to be more prominent as the demand, more often than not, had always been high. Exporters in Sri Lanka, need knowledge guidance and know how to enter international markets and also a mechanism that can guarantee export ready, quality products. With lack of access to testing facilities, exporters have always struggled with their products to penetrate the global market place. Moreover, in Sri Lanka, many processors / manufacturers are used to the practice of bulk export with low margins. Thus, this leads to adulteration of many commodities in order acquire better profit margins i.e. Virgin Coconut Oil.

Hence, value addition as we have seen over the many years of transforming export orientated companies, is a must in approaching the bottom line in a better, profitable, optimized manner. Therefore, Design Logics stepped out of the box, to understand how these gaps can be bridged by connecting and streamlining supply chains to create an on-demand supply chain.

Through extensive research, experience into market functions and the many needs of SMEs/MSMEs that act as entry barriers to become successful in the international market, Design Logics came up with an incubator, an export hub, that can connect all export needs in a common ground, an Export Accelerator that can bridge all export entry barriers and foster value addition taking homegrown Sri Lankan brands/products to the international market.
Design Logics Connect Hub, Export Enterprise Accelerator is a facility to leverage Export Assistance through networking, creating
marketplaces, that can activate the on-demand supply chain, empowering start-ups to scale-ups to create their brands, meet international compliance requirements, and reach their full market potential. A platform, fostering innovation and creativity in the Agri based manufacturing, exports space in Sri Lanka, through enabling enterprises to transform their ideas into commercially viable solutions.

Dammikka
Sriwardhana

Founder & Managing Director

Dammikka Sriwardhana is a strategist and a designer at his core. His entrepreneurial journey starts at the age of 16, with commendable skills in design, advertising, concept development and art direction. With this demonstrated history of working in the design industry,

Design Logics came to life with specialisation in strategic branding and packaging. He has developed many international brands including over 70% of the top twenty homegrown tea brands and made them successive in the international market.

For over the past 20 years Dammikka Sriwardhana provides guidance and strategic knowledge for driven, creative, and passionate entrepreneurs and small business owners who are here to make their mark on the world. Some of his work involves; developed the Digital Strategy for INFOTEL 2017, “Going Global” Strategy for Sri Lanka Association of Printers (SLAP). Dammikka Sriwardhana is also an international award winning entrepreneur.

 

2006

Design Logics (Pvt) Ltd, was incorporated as one of the very first companies in Sri Lanka that engaged directly in brand packaging with cutting edge digital printers in house, creating some of the best Tea brands & other Agri based in
Sri Lanka and in other countries,

i.e. – Heladiv Teas, Impra Teas, Zesta, Lumbini Tea, Barari Dates etc.

2008

Design Logics purchased the first digital production printer for rapid sampling for packaging in South East Asia.

2012

First digital die cutter in South East Asia for better, robust packaging development for the export market.

2016

In 2016 Design Logics embarked on a journey to help the farmers in Sri Lanka as there was always a need to enhance the bottom line of the farmers and also ensure that they make sustainable farming choices. Grow-i on-demand farming tool was birthed here taking the first steps to creating an entire eco-system called “From The Farm To The Shelf”.

2018

Design Logics incorporated its first sister company “School of Foreign Trade and Export Strategy” (SOFTAES) to bridge the knowledge gap of the SMEs who always looked to export. SOFTAES is now the export consultancy arm of Design Logics providing end-to-end transformational services.

2019

With SOFTAES experience empowering SMEs to becomes exporters with the partnership of IDB & leading banks in Sri Lanka (Sampath Bank, People’s Bank) , there was need to connect financing as it was a critical success factor for manufacturers and exporters.
This led to creating a robust Financial Mechanism called the “ Maitrixx Enterprise Accelerator”, with a suite of proprietary digital tools which can manage finances and also optimise processes.

 

2020

A long lived vision of the founder of DL to create an
all inclusive, export platform for SMEs & manufacturers in Sri Lanka, Design Logics Connect Hub , the Export Enterprise Accelerator is now on the path to becoming a reality.

2022
